Make Your Own Free Printable (+ more)

Hello friends!  Life has been ca-ca-ca-craaaaazy around here lately, but really, that's not anything new for the Hastings family.  I will be so happy when my little ones are finally done with school and we can freely frolic the way the sunshine wants us to.  Summer in Michigan.  Nothing better in the world, I tell you!

I recently read a lovely quote and thought to myself, "THAT is something I want to very much remember!"  Of course, then I promptly forgot it until I remembered I forgot it and found it again.  Just so that doesn't happen repeatedly, I decided to make my little quote into a printable, pretty enough to be hung on my wall.  (That's where today's delicious freebie came from.)  I hope you'll add a favorite quote of your own or perhaps a pretty monogram or something equally clever and enjoy it hanging around as much as I have!

Along with the high res 8x8 downloads, I will also post web versions for you to use online and even on instagram.  (I'm friendly that way.)  The two that are white in the middle are .png files and may be used as frames.  Have fun with them!

Ahoy There {Nautical Banner Freebie}

Maybe it's because this is Michigan's worst winter since 1978 or because this little family o' mine is jammin' out of here to the Caribbean the first chance we get, but my brain is all sorts of nautical right now.  I'm part mermaid anyway, but lately all I can think about is the sun on my face and the sound of waves high-fiving some glorious beach.  So, it's no surprise that my latest blog goodie for you is something along those lines...

Feel free to use the completed post pretty I created above and/or you can snag the customizable one below to use on your blog!

Speaking of nautical...and radical, have you guys seen the shirts Christine from Ahoy Tees makes?  Must.  Have.  As of this minute, she's got 14 hours to go on her kickstarter page.  You can get a super suh-weet t-shirt for your little one or one for your little self starting at $25.  Ooh, and an AHOY tattoo!  (I want an ahoy tattoo, guys.)  Besides helping to kickstart a seriously cool new company, you'd also be helping a seriously cool person.  Christine is our newest sponsor and I'm not kidding when I say that I totally adore her...because I do.  I totally adore her.  Trying to talk her into posting here because she is THAT cool.  Anyway, yes!  Snatch up a shirt like the one below while the clock is still ticking!  You will absolutely not regret it.

Free Antique Winter Blog Frame

Hi there.  If you noticed I'm a smidge behind on my blog, you should check out Real Life Megan.  She's a cold mess!  This holiday season completely crept up on me this year.  I've hardly decorated our snow-covered yellow farmhouse and haven't baked a single cookie.  Not one.  While my waistline is appreciative, my kids aren't quite as grateful.  And as long as I'm confessing things, I might as well just throw it out there that I may or may not have possibly led my children to believe that their Elf on the Shelf got injured while they were playing with him- which is why he is slow to move around or do fancy Pinterest-worthy stunts.  It's just that kind of year.  I've accepted it.  Actually, I take that back.  I have full-on embraced it.  Because, you know what?  Sometimes we just need to let go of those high expectations, hold onto our dear ones, eat store-bought cookies, and just feel grateful for the things we have done right and the magic that is already around us.

In case you get ambitious though, here's a lovely little blog frame for you to customize and post.  (That sweet little wreath bit I used to decorate this antique frame was drawn by Laura of My Sweet Rose.)  Enjoy this little freebie, but most of all, enjoy this holiday season!

Make Your Own Free Printable

Here's what's awesome about fall.  Everything!  I love it!  ALL of it!  Not so much a fan of the blizzard that follows, but autumn itself is a treasure from heaven.  No joke.  LOVE it!  My little family has hit the pumpkin patch three times now and it just never gets old.  Hot cocoa, bonfires, family visiting from out of town, blustery visits to Lake Michigan, dancing in the painted leaves with no jackets on, dancing in the painted leaves with several jackets on, snuggling, enjoying, just being.  Heaven on earth, I tell you.  I love my little family and I love this time of year.  So much so that I wanted to frame a little quote about it...which is why I designed this free printable for you!  (Did you see how I shifted right into that?  Smooth, right?)

This design was created as an 8.5 x 11 paper, but it can be cropped to 8 x 10 if you'd like.  The cool thing about this pretty little printable is that you can totally customize it to say whatever you want!  Choose your favorite quote, your monogram, your secret hopes and dreams, whatever floats your boat!  (I only ask that you utilize this for your personal use only and don't redistribute it por favor.)

Click on the preview image below to download the file.  Enjoy!!!

Free Fall Blog Frames

I don't know about you, but I don't believe in school pictures.  My poor kids would probably be so much happier if I did, but I don't.  Instead, I believe in marching my three young daughters into the apple orchard up the road and making them pose for about a thousand pictures none of us are really in the mood for taking.  And then we drink hot chocolate and mess up our hair and dance around the house in our undies to celebrate our impeccable behavior.  :)  I would never claim we are an ordinary family, but I kind of love us anyway.

I wanted to create some frames that you could use on your blogs or facebook or wherever to display those fall photos I know you're making people pose for too.  Have fun with them!!!

Digital Shabby Wood Signs

I've got a meeting with my awesome tech guy in a little bit and I'm so excited about what's cooking over here!  Can't wait to share all of the details!  Aaaaand I'll be updating ShabbyBlogs.com soon with brand new goodies as well, so keep your eyes peeled!  For now though, how about some great shabby wood signs that you can customize and use on your blog?  These are so versatile!  You can add whatever text you want and use them as sidebar tags or use them within your blog posts or you could even use them as blog headers, though I didn't play around with that yet.  Have fun with these chippy little bits of loveliness!  :)

Free Vintage Map Digital Frames

The hubster and I just got back from a road trip to Colorado & Utah...and then back home to Michigan again.  Yes, that is A LOT of time in a vehicle with three little ones.  Nope, we don't regret a thing!  (Except for that midnight taco run in Salt Lake.  Huge mistake.  Don't even ask.)  It was a wonderful trip and we feel so grateful for the time we were able to spend with family and friends.  Now that I'm home and getting back into the swing of "normal" life, I'd like to blog some of our trip photos.  For sure something that incorporated maps was in order so I whipped up these cute polaroid-style vintage map frames.  I thought you might like them too.  Whether you're a fellow road-tripper or just love a good map like I do, these frames are sure to add some serious awesomeness to your photos!  As always, we can't wait to see what you do with them!

Free Floral Watercolor Blog Frame

Since I've been so busy lately and I am behind in everything, I figured this freebie better be a good one.  You're going to freak out when you see this.  Did you scroll down and peek?  Awesome, right?!!  I die.  Laura Davies, our artist extraordinaire, has cooked up the most gorgeous watercolor flowers!  What could be a more perfect way to show off your good-lookin' mug?  This would make the BEST profile photo for your blog.  Or, of course, you can use it in your posts or even on Facebook!  Just make sure you don't pass on the image or claim it as your own.  I want to be sure Laura gets the credit for her genius.  :)  Oh, and speaking of Laura, she's having a BOGO sale over at My Sweet Rose right now!  Buy one print and get half off the next!  Just had to share because I loooooove her work.  Thank you, Laura!!!

Here's a preview of the floral frame using my adorable husband and Yours Nerdily to show you what it looks like when you add your photo:

And here is the .PNG file for you.  Just click on it to see the full-sized version and then save it to your computer!  Have fun!!!

Free Vintage Blog Post Pretty

Oh my stars!  I've been running around like a crazy person lately!  I've been so busy (which I genuinely hate) and need to catch up on a thousand things!  I'll be reviewing everyone this week who commented here wanting to be a guest blogger and I'm SO excited to pick someone!  Or two someones.  Or three.  I have a feeling it will be hard to choose!  Get over there now and leave your info if you are interested in being a guest blogger for Shabby Blogs!

I decided not to do the Top Ten on Tuesday Link Party for the summer...in case you were one of the awesome people who were getting in on that action.  I go back and forth from my home to my mom's place on Lake Michigan throughout the summer so it is just too hard to stay on top of for me right now.  I'm sorry!  But, on the bright side, that does free me up for more design work to dish out here and at ShabbyBlogs.com.  Gotta love that, right?!!  :)

Okay, so today's free blog goodie was made up from an aged envelope that I adorned with vintage fabric flowers and other retro odds and ends.  I love how it turned out!  (Can I say that about something I made myself?  Is that bad?)  It would be so cool to use in your blog posts!  I may even make some of these to use on Instagram.  Wouldn't that be fun?!!  Anyway...here's the freebie just for you!  Enjoy!

Free Blog/Instagram Frame + A Need For Guest Bloggers + A Place You Should Shop

So not only did I mess up last week's link party by putting the link code in wrong, but I missed it altogether this week.  That is how awesome I am.  Ha!  Sorry guys!  It has been one of those weeks.  We'll get back on track next Tuesday with a brand new Top Ten List writing prompt.

Okay.  On to 3 completely random things.

1. Who wants to be a guest blogger here on the SB blog?  With my girls getting out of school soon, I plan on being totally busy swimming in Lake Michigan, chasing fireflies, and roasting marshmallows with my little family.  It would be awesome to have another blogger or two fill in either once a week or every other week.  Post about whatever you want.  If you are a digital designer, nobody hates awesome freebies.  That would be shabulous!  If you are a DIY person- that is always fun too.  Photographer?  Sure.  Honestly, I don't even care what your blogging claim to fame (or claim to not fame yet, but working on it) is as long as it is something I think our visitors would dig.  Just leave a comment here with a link to your favorite two or three blog posts along with a way to contact you and we'll take a peek and email those we think would be a good fit.  What say you?  Sound cool?

2. I know this is random, but I have three little girls whom I love to dress. Having said that, I try to only buy things when they are on sale.  Having said that, one of our sponsors is having a seeeeriously rad sale.  I don't normally blog about things like that, but I can't help it this time, guys.  Everything is just so cute!!!  If you have ever shopped at My Little Jules, you know what I'm talking squealing about.  They have THE best brands and cutest clothing for girls.  And their sales are such a life-saver!  My Little Jules is currently having a Memorial Day sale with items up to 40% off.  When I get cute pieces for my girls at those prices, I can later take them to my local children's consignment boutique and nearly get back what I paid for them.  Awesome, right?  Anyway, no, I wasn't asked to share any of this.  I just really love MLJ so I wanted to let you in on the sale and the cuteness.  Here is a sneak peek so you can see what I mean:

3.  I'm an Instagramming fool.  True story.  I love using Instagram to capture those on-the-go moments which can later be blogged and elaborated on.  With that in mind, I created this simple four-photo square blog frame.  (I kept it basic so your photos will really pop!)  You don't have to use this frame with Instagram photos though.  Anything you want to share will do!  It's just a fun way to add a little character to your blog photos.  Here is a preview using a few of my IG photos:

And here is the freebie!  Just click on the image below for the full-sized .png file.  Enjoy!

Thanks everyone!

Free Digital Paper- Winifred the Fancy Whale

I love to create things.  Though I'm probably best at making messes, I love to make art- whichever way it comes out.  I'm not one of those people who usually sees what I'm making before I sit down to make it though. That means that nine times out of ten, I completely surprise myself.  That was definitely the case with this latest design.  Laura was so sweet to send over these gorgeous ranunculus she painted.  Every time she sends me new beautiful pieces of watercolor loveliness, it feels like Christmas!  Within seconds, I had the files open and was kafloofling about with things.  After a minute or two, there was a whale involved...and she was in desperate need of a bit of fancying up.  Some would suppose whales don't care about trivial things like "fanciness", but you should know that this one (I named her Winifred) most certainly does.  I'm pretty sure this random bit of delightful silliness came from the incessant rain we've had here in Michigan and the fact that I've been holding my breath waiting for my own little flowers to finally burst open.  But, wherever my dear old girl Winifred came from, she is now headed straight for your blog...so be good to her!  :)

Ooh, and don't forget that if you live in Utah, you can meet the super sweet and deliciously talented Laura Davies at the Beehive Bazaar in May!!!

XOXO-
Megan

Feather Art Blog Post Pretties

Hey there, birds of a feather!  This freebie comes to you from the paintbrush of Laura Davies.  She painted these beautiful little feathers and passed them on to me so that I could design something lovely for you to use on your blogs.  Isn't that rad?!!  These post pretties are going to make your notes and quotes look cooler than ever!  Just click on the images below to download the full-sized versions.

Bonus:  If you happen to live in Utah, Laura will be at the Beehive Bazaar in Provo next month.  Since I'm over here in Michigan, I can't go.  (I know.  It stings.)  But if you can, stop in to see our girl Laura and snag some of her stunning art in person.  For those of us who aren't within reach of the hive, there is always this little treasure trove.  I know it's not the same as getting to hang out with her in person, but it's still pretty sweet.  :)
